Dr. Jeffrey I. Mechanick to Receive ACE Master of the American College of Endocrinology
Mount Sinai Professor Will Accept the Award at AACE 2019
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (April 23, 2019) – Dr. Jeffrey I. Mechanick, MD, FACP, FACN, FACE, ECNU, Professor of Medicine and Medical Director of The Marie-Josée and Henry R. Kravis Center for Clinical Cardiovascular Health at Mount Sinai Heart, is the 2019 recipient of the American College of Endocrinology (ACE) Master of the American College of Endocrinology (MACE). Dr. Mechanick will receive his award during AACE 2019, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologist’s (AACE) 28th Annual Scientific & Clinical Congress in Los Angeles.
The ACE Master of the American College of Endocrinology (MACE) is presented to an AACE member who has received Fellow of the American College of Endocrinology (FACE) distinction and is recognized as a distinguished endocrinologist; role model for developing endocrinologist; and contributor to AACE and to the art of science of endocrinology.
Dr. Mechanick is also Director of Metabolic Support in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Bone Disease at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is responsible for training cardiology fellows at Mount Sinai in lifestyle medicine, nutrition and metabolic support. His research centers on the fields of nutrition and metabolic support, obesity and lifestyle medicine and network analysis of complex systems.
Dr. Mechanick co-authored Diabetes Mellitus Pocket and Nutritional Medicine Pocket and co-edited publications including Nutritional Strategies for the Diabetic and Prediabetic Patient and Thyroid Cancer: From Emergent Biotechnology to Clinical Practice Guidelines.
Dr. Mechanick served as President of ACE (2016-2017), President of AACE (2013-2014) and President of the American Board of Physician Nutrition Specialists (2005-2006). He received his medical degree from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Taking place April 24-28, 2019, AACE 2019 will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center & JW Marriott and will feature expert speakers, networking events, and trade show exhibitions.
