GEORGE J. KAHALY, M.D., Ph.D., Professor of Medicine and Endocrinology/Metabolism, is chief physician of the endocrine outpatient clinic and chairs the tertiary referral ORPHAN disease center for Graves’ orbitopathy and autoimmune polyglandular syndromes at the Johannes Gutenberg University Medical Center, Mainz, Germany. Dr. Kahaly directs the Thyroid Laboratory and has authored 255 original papers and reviews published in the New England Journal of Medicine, the Lancet D&E, the Journal of Autoimmunity, Clinical Chemistry, the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism (JCEM), the Journal of Nuclear Medicine, Thyroid, Endocrine Reviews, Nature Reviews and Autoimmunity Reviews (Citation H index 43, 7294 citations). Dr. Kahaly is Editor of the JCEM and served as Associate Editor of the journal THYROID 2009-2012. Dr. Kahaly served as Principle Officer for Finances of the European Thyroid Association 2007-2016 and is Treasurer of the European Group on Graves’ orbitopathy (EUGOGO) since 2004. He has served since 2005 on several Committees of the American Thyroid Association.

Mark A. Lupo, MD, FACE, ECNU

Dr. Lupo is the founder and medical director of the Thyroid & Endocrine Center of Florida located in Sarasota. . His endocrine practice is limited to thyroidology with an emphasis on structural thyroid disease – nodules and cancer as well as autoimmune thyroid disease. He has published book chapters and several articles in the field of thyroidology. The Thyroid & Endocrine Center has been involved in several clinical trials on thyroid nodule evaluation and lab testing. He is on the faculty of the Florida State University College of Medicine as Clinical Assistant Professor.
