Eliot A Brinton, MD is President of the Utah Lipid Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. He is Past President of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology and of the Pacific Chapter of the National Lipid Association (NLA). Dr Brinton was trained at Stanford University, the University of Utah, Duke University and the University of Washington. He has served on the faculty of the Rockefeller University, Wake Forest University, the University of Arizona and the University of Utah. Dr. Brinton is Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Lipidology and Assistant Editor of the Journal of Obesity. He has coauthored over 100 scientific publications in several prominent journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, Science, Circulation, JAMA, JACC, JCEM, and the Journal of Clinical Lipidology. Dr Brinton has served as an expert writer for lipidology-related guidelines and scientific statements for the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and the American Heart Association (AHA). He is a fellow of the AHA and past chair of its Clinical Lipidology Committee. He is a national board member and fellow of the NLA. He has received several honors, including the Robert I. Levy Award of the Lipoprotein Kinetics and Metabolism Society.
