Pauline Camacho, MD, FACE

Professor of Medicine
Loyola University Medical Center

Dr. Pauline M. Camacho is a Professor of Medicine at Loyola University Medical Center and directs the Loyola University Osteoporosis and Metabolic Bone Disease Center. She is also the Program Director for the Endocrinology fellowship at Loyola. She obtained her medical degree from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Rush University Medical Center and endocrinology fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center. Her clinical practice and research focuses on osteoporosis and other metabolic bone diseases such as vitamin D deficiency, primary hyperparathyroidism and other calcium and mineral disorders. She has authored numerous publications, including three books in
Endocrinology. She is the lead author on the 2016 AACE Postmenopausal Osteoporosis Guidelines, and has helped author several of AACE's Guidelines. Dr. Camacho is the Immediate Past President of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE).

Michael Scott Irwig, MD

Associate Professor
George Washington University

Michael S. Irwig, MD, F.A.C.E., is board-certified in Endocrinology & Metabolism and is an associate professor of Medicine at The George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. He also is an adjunct associate professor of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine.
Dr. Irwig is a general endocrinologist with a particular interest and expertise in androgens and transgender care. His research has focused on men with persistent sexual and non-sexual side effects of finasteride (Propecia), transgender health and men with borderline testosterone levels. He has over 35 peer-reviewed publications and has presented over 100 lectures at hospitals and medical schools across. He also serves as a reviewer for over 36 peer-reviewed medical journals. He is the past president of the mid-Atlantic chapter of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE) and chairs the disease state network on pituitary, adrenal, gonadal and neuroendocrine. Dr. Irwig received his M.D. degree from Cornell University and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Virginia. He was a senior fellow in endocrinology, metabolism, and nutrition at the University of Washington in Seattle.

R. Mack Harrell, MD

Dr. R. Mack Harrell has built the last 27 years of his life around sound. In 1992, he became the first endocrinologist in the Cleveland Clinic system to bring neck ultrasound technology into the endocrine office setting. In 2011, he and his surgical partner, Dr. David Bimston established the first hospital-based integrative endocrine surgery office in the United States- bringing imaging endocrinologists and endocrine surgeons together with high resolution realtime ultrasound equipment and on site cytology capability to create a full service thyroidology, parathyroidolgy and adrenal practice serving Florida and the Caribbean. SInce 2005, Drs. Harrell and Bimston have published multiple peer-reviewed papers together regarding the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid nodular disease and hyperparathyroidism. Dr. Harrell has served as the president of AACE in 2014-2015 and the president of the American College of Endocrinology from 2017-2018. When not practicing thyroidology, Dr. Harrell enjoys working with sound in the range of human hearing and is an award winning member of the Nashville Songwriter's Association International (NSAI) in search of his first Country radio hit. Over the years he has been blessed to perform at AACE events with his bandmates Dr. Tim Bailey and Dr. Kathleen Figaro in the band "Sugar."
