Susan L. Samson MD PhD FRCPC FACE is a tenured Associate Professor at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She is originally from Canada and completed her medical degree at Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario) and Internal Medicine training in her hometown of Calgary, Alberta. She moved to Baylor for Endocrinology fellowship training, where she was brought onto the faculty. She is board-certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism in the USA and in Canada. Her major interest is in Hypothalamic and Pituitary Disorders and she is the Medical Director of the Baylor St.Luke's Medical Center Pituitary Center since 2011. Dr. Samson has a background in basic science and translational research and also is a site principal investigator for several clinical trials in the areas of Cushing's syndrome, Acromegaly and Grwoth Hormone deficiciency. She has authored has been awarded the Fulbright and Jaworski L.L.P. Faculty Excellence Award for Teaching and Evaluation as well as the Rising Star award at Baylor College of Medicine in its inaugural year. She also is dedicated to training future endocrinologists as the Endocrinology fellowship program director and counts more than 50 fellows graduated under her guidance as associate program direoctor or program director. Dr. Samson currently serves on the board of directors of National AACE and the Texas chapter of AACE, Amercian Program Directors of Endocrinology and Metabolism Council, and the American Board of Internal Medicine Self-assessment Committee
