Rodica Pop-Busui M.D., Ph.D. is Professor in the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology and Diabetes, co-Director Neuropathy Center, and Associate Chair for Clinical Research in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Michigan involved in outpatient and inpatient diabetes care. She serves(d) as site Principal Investigator/Co-PI on landmark NIH funded diabetes clinical trials including Action to Control Cardiovascular Risk in Diabetes (ACCORD), Bypass Angioplasty Revascularization Investigation 2 Diabetes (BARI 2D), Diabetes Control and Complications Trial/Epidemiology of Diabetes Interventions and Complications (DCCT/EDIC) trial, Targeting Inflammation with Salsalate in Type 2 Diabetes (TINSAL T2D), Prevention of Early Renal Loss in Type 1 Diabetes (PERL), REPLACE BG, and many diabetes CVDOT and CGM/closed loop trials funded by Pharma . She published more than 150 peer reviewed manuscripts and received awards from the Fulbright Foundation, the American Diabetes Association, and the University of Michigan.
