Paul Jellinger, MD, MACE is a Professor of Clinical Medicine on the Voluntary Faculty at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and practices clinical endocrinology at The Center for Diabetes & Endocrine Care in Hollywood, Florida. He is a past president of AACE and the American College of Endocrinology and a Master of the American College of Endocrinology. He has been very active in the production of AACE Diabetes and Lipid Guidelines since their origin co-chairing the first AACE Diabetes Algorithm. He was Chair of the Writing Committee for the comprehensive 2017 AACE/ACE lipid clinical practice guidelines for "Management of Dyslipidemia and Preventioin of Cardiovascular Disease". He has participated as a Task Force member in numerous AACE Consensus Conferences and Position Statements and has more than 40 publications.

Dr. Bloomgarden is a clinician in private practice with an international reputation for writing and lecturing on diabetes, having authored more than 500 articles. He is Clinical Professor in the Department of Medicine of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and is Editor of the Journal of Diabetes. He served on the Board of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, the Journals Managing Subcommittee of the Endocrine Society, and the Editorial Board of Diabetes Care, has been principal investigator in numerous studies, and is a reviewer for many journals, including Diabetes Care, Endocrine Practice, the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, the Medical Letter on Drugs and Therapeutics, the Lancet, Lancet Diabetes and Endocrinology, JAMA Internal Medicine, the Annals of Internal Medicine, BMC Cardiovascular Disorders, BMJ Open Diabetes Research & Care, Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, the American Journal of Epidemiology, and Pediatrics. In 2012, Dr. Bloomgarden was awarded the title of Master of the American College of Endocrinology. He has been listed for many years in the “Castle Connolly Guide: The Best Doctors New York Metro Area.”

Dr Bloomgarden's interests span the overall field of diabetes. He has carefully followed the development of therapeutic approaches over the past two decades, and for many years wrote a renowned monthly commentary in Diabetes Care, entitled "Perspectives on the News," focusing on this and other aspects of clinical care. Currently, as the Editor of the Journal of Diabetes, he writes frequent commentaries addressing various aspects of treatment. He is interested in the epidemiology of diabetes with particular focus on cardiovascular disease, and has paid particular attention to questions of safety of therapeutic approaches and, even more important, to the potential for cardiovascular and microvascular benefit of diabetes treatment.

A medical internship was completed at County Hospital Sanderbush ,Germany followed by another internship and internal medicine residency ,including chief medical resident ,at Tucson Medical Education Program in Tucson , Arizona .

Postdoctoral training included a National Institute of Health fellowship in nephrology at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital and Harvard Medical School in
Boston, Massachusetts . Dr. Mende is board certified in nephrology, internal medicein, geriatrics and clincal hypertension.

Among his medical afiliations ,Dr. Mende is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, American Heart Association, American College of Nutrition .
American Society of Nephrology and charter member and Fellow of the American Society of Hypertension .

Dr. Mende is a reviewer for several medical journals and is widely pyblished ; he has made contributions to the medical press in experimental
and clinical renal disease, hypertension, diabetes and other medical topics .

Eliot A Brinton, MD is President of the Utah Lipid Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. He is Past President of the American Board of Clinical Lipidology and of the Pacific Chapter of the National Lipid Association (NLA). Dr Brinton was trained at Stanford University, the University of Utah, Duke University and the University of Washington. He has served on the faculty of the Rockefeller University, Wake Forest University, the University of Arizona and the University of Utah. Dr. Brinton is Associate Editor of the Journal of Clinical Lipidology and Assistant Editor of the Journal of Obesity. He has coauthored over 100 scientific publications in several prominent journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, Science, Circulation, JAMA, JACC, JCEM, and the Journal of Clinical Lipidology. Dr Brinton has served as an expert writer for lipidology-related guidelines and scientific statements for the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and the American Heart Association (AHA). He is a fellow of the AHA and past chair of its Clinical Lipidology Committee. He is a national board member and fellow of the NLA. He has received several honors, including the Robert I. Levy Award of the Lipoprotein Kinetics and Metabolism Society.
